Background

I have consulting experience from earthmoving to events including auditing and inspections, contractor management, hazard/risk management, task analysis, pre-qualifications, drug testing and incident investigations. Holding a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, a Bachelor of Science in Business, and 15 years as a former Police Officer, I have an excellent background in applying legislation within workplaces. 

Known for my ability to communicate well at worker level, I focus on making safety practices simple and achievable in the workplace. Emphasising the importance of communication at workplaces with multiple contractors present, I focus on inductions, meetings and pre-approval/observations of contractors. Upskilling managers and ensuring they are achieving due diligence, I encourage management involvement and leadership with a no blame culture.

Providing ongoing or short term consultancy options, ensuring that your Health & Safety system works for your organisation. I develop processes that makes reporting simple, encourages recognition of safe behaviour practices and identifies training opportunities, to encourage an ongoing Health & Safety education and learning journey.

I can deliver presentations and team meetings, introducing industry safety alerts, discussing incidents, new hazards, health and wellbeing initiatives and provides refresher training of an organisations' Health and Safety processes and procedures. Skilled in building both internal and external relationships, I can collaborate with stakeholders ensuring that communication takes place across all aspects of Health, Safety and wellbeing.

 With a wide range of knowledge developed from experience across a broad spectrum of clients, from sole tradespersons, small to medium businesses, event promotors and sporting organisations, along with skills to research legislation and standards and networking across the Health & Safety and business communities. I am passionate about educating all workers in safety and wellbeing.
