You can access our website and browse our site without having to disclose personal information.

Information collection and purpose specification

When you voluntarily provide personal information to HASANZ (for example, by completing a form on the website or by contacting us) we will use that information only for the purpose for which it was given.

We collect personal information from people who apply to list on the HASANZ Register during the application process. This information is collected and used to make it easier for businesses, other organisations and individuals to find health and safety advisers who meet the requirements for HASANZ Registration and who meet such businesses’, other organisations’ or individuals’ needs.

When you apply to list on the HASANZ Register a HASANZ Administrator and selected representatives of your HASANZ Member Association will be given access to your personal information for the purpose of verifying your professional profile on the HASANZ Register to ensure it meets the registration requirements and may use and/or disclose that information for the purpose of undertaking verification checks. Uploaded evidence documents that support your application will not be public information on the Register. Where your application to list on the HASANZ Register is successful, HASANZ will:

  • use any personal information that you provide to HASANZ for the purposes of administering and operating the HASANZ Register; and
  • make certain personal information, including your name and personal contact details, publicly available on the HASANZ Register.

If we wish to use your personal information for a new purpose, we will give you the opportunity to consent to the new purpose.

Automatic collection of information

We also collect information to enable us to understand how people use our website. We use this data to improve the website and to identify and create content that is relevant to the users of this site. The information we collect includes:

  • users' IP addresses
  • users' search terms
  • pages accessed on the site
  • links that are clicked on
  • date and time of site visits
  • previous visited site
  • users' operating systems
  • browsers used when accessing the site.

Information about your visit is combined with the data from all of our visitors and is anonymous. This information is only viewable by HASANZ.

Google may also collect information when JavaScript is turned on in your internet browser. This is due to the site using a portion of the Google public index for its search functionality. Google’s use of such information is addressed in its Privacy Policy.

Cookies

Cookies are small files which are sent by a website and stored on your computer's hard drive. This site uses cookies to aid in the functionality of the site including to track progress when filling out the profile form and maintaining site presentation. Third party cookies, such as Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager, are also used to provide HASANZ with information about site usage and to improve the service offered to site visitors.

If you prefer not to use cookies, you can still use the site to search for an adviser, however you will not be able to be listed on the HASANZ Register. To find out how to disable cookies, check the Help instructions in your web browser.

Access to personal information

If you have supplied personal information to HASANZ, you can request that the HASANZ site administrator provide you with any personal information we might hold about you and request us to correct such personal information.

HASANZ is not responsible for the content or reliability of the linked websites and does not necessarily endorse the views expressed within them.
