Background

I have been involved in the provision of occupational safety and health advice and assistance for over 25 years in a range of industries including civil construction, Rail, Adventure Tourism, Transport, Transport of Hazardous Substances and Manufacturing. This has exposed me to a wide variety of work situations where the management of hazards and risk has been critical.

My experience has given me a broad knowledge of systems and processes in both the Corporate world and the Private Sector and has enabled me to provide advice and assistance to a business covering a large scope of services.

I often find that issues from one industry may be solved with solutions from a totally unrelated field and have found that honest, open communication is the best way to gain acceptance of change.

I am committed to playing an active role in improving occupational health and safety outcomes for the benefit of ALL New Zealand workers and workplaces.

I have a particular interest in analysing gaps in business approaches to health and safety and engaging with the complete workforce – from Board level to ground, and below ground level.

I believe Health and Safety should be a normal part of how you do business, not an expensive add on.
