Background

I am a certified Health and Safety Professional accredited by both NZISM and HASANZ and holding a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. With a track record spanning over 21+ years, I have amassed a wealth of expertise in health, safety and wellbeing across a broad spectrum of industries, including Government, Construction, Waste/Recycling, Agriculture, Aviation, and Food Manufacturing. My career is underscored by a consistent ability to inspire and lead teams at all organisational levels, fostering positive and sustainable transformations. I specialise in several facets of Health, Safety and Wellbeing including:

Crafting tailored H&S systems, policies, procedures, SOPs, and JSAs
Contractor management - Pre-qualification and onwards
Employee engagement and mentoring
Individual site inspections ISO 45001 and AS/NZ 4801
Risk management (including critical risk work programmes)
Incident investigation and management
Comprehensive Health and Safety training and mentoring experience

One of my key strengths lies in cultivating relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, from executives to frontline workers and contractors. I take pride in employing a hands-on approach, effectively bridging the gap between theory and practice.

I am dedicated to mentoring with a passion and have had the privilege of guiding three emerging Health and Safety professionals, supporting them to successfully complete their studies and aiding in their job placement. I have actively contributed to the Wellington NZISM Branch H&S Committee for over three years but stepped down when mentoring responsibilities took precedence.
