Having been in leadership and managerial positions for over 25 years, I understand the challenges of coordinating and managing different people, process, priorities and profits. Health and Safety is another critical component that needs close consideration to incorporate into business decisions.
My strengths are developing team cultures and behaviours that allows teams to grow their abilities to self-manage. For health and safety, this means working with business owners and senior management, so they understand their health and safety roles and responsibilities and then assisting them in developing their systems and capabilities, so health and safety becomes ‘business as usual’.
Workers are engaged and involved so they also understand the vital part they play in keeping themselves and others safe from harm, which leads to an organisational wide culture that embeds health and safety as a key component of the overall business strategy.
Simply put, I will help businesses understand their hazards, risks, health and safety maturity and gaps, and then work with them and other trusted advisors on coordinating an approach that eliminates or reduces those risks in both the short and long term. Having quality health and safety inputs = great health and safety outcomes.
