Background
As a professional I support and advise organisations in their Health and Safety journey. I believe Health and Safety is best served by fully integrating it into everyday operations. Many aspects of business feed into the success of your health and safety systems, including recruitment, business processes, quality management, risk management, leadership and finance.
I am passionate about people’s safety and wellness, to ensure every person in your business goes home safely at the end of the day. Health and Safety gives us the opportunity to look at your team holistically, to establish the underlying context of behaviour, and once that context is understood, to see what avenues we can explore to improve performance.
My approach is to support organisations through an initial gap analysis of the business as a whole, to then integrate improvements into management systems. From there I can advise where time and resources are best spent to improve the culture and compliance of your organisation.
I have trained over 20,000 people in Health and Safety for the Christchurch rebuild. I have advised on risk and health and safety management on thousands of claims throughout New Zealand through a third party claims handler. I hold Bachelor of Commerce majoring in HR and Strategic Management, specialising in small to medium sized businesses; a graduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, with a special interest in risk management. I have extensive experiencing delivering high level health, safety and risk advice, including contractor management, for large companies in manufacturing, construction and insurance.
