Jay Barrett

Background

I am a Registered Psychologist specialising in psychosocial risk assessment and management. My passion is helping organisations and leaders build their ability to perform to their strategic objectives, one important area being psychosocial risk protection. I use evidence-based tools to identify, assess and manage the risk of psychosocial hazards, and I appreciate there are many ways to make these processes fit for organisations.  
I pull my knowledge from a range of areas. I have had the opportunity to work in high-pressure sports environments as a performance psychologist, and the chance to captain commercial super yachts (I still have to pinch myself with these memories!). Now, I'm grateful for the opportunity to support small-large businesses and large corporate environments protect their people's mental health and maximise their psychological health and safety practices. 
I am registered under the New Zealand Psychologists Board and hold a Master's Degree in Psychology. I am also a committee member for the Industrial and Organisational Psychology Special Interest Group, a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM).
