Background

I am committed to playing an active role in improving occupational health and safety outcomes and working towards developing the capability gap in the health and safety industry which will benefit all New Zealand workplaces.

I have been involved in the provision of occupational safety and health advice and assistance for many years in a range of industries including civil construction, residential construction, infrastructure, roading services, pest and washroom, and educational services, both locally and throughout New Zealand. This has exposed me to a wide variety of work situations where the management of hazards and risk has been critical.  This has enabled me to offer industry specific technical guidance and knowledge, and diverse and practical support.

I am naturally curious, a critical thinker and complex problem solver, and can keep focus on the big picture whilst dealing with the day-to-day detail. I thrive under pressure and have an in-built desire to be intellectually stimulated and challenged daily. I enjoy being organised and enjoy the success that comes with planning and prioritising work, while staying pragmatic and flexible.

I am an active member of the mentor programme with New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM).
