Background

Qualified health and safety practitioner, with 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry in Taranaki, New Zealand. 
Graduate member of New Zealand Institute of Safety Management, and company representative on the working committee of BeAligned (a project initiated by Be Safe Taranaki intended to standardise safety requirements across major manufacturing sites in Taranaki).
In addition to general health and safety responsibilities within operations and projects, corporate responsibilities include development of leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators, health and safety management system reviews and training. 
Contractor health and safety management experience includes support with development of improvement plans with contractor organisations and actively working with them to achieve these. 
Lead judge for five years in the health and safety category for Taranaki Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, working with small, medium and large organisations.

Specialist areas of responsibility include development of leading and lagging performance indicators, and management system reviews and effectiveness assessment. Contractor health and safety management experience includes providing support with the development of improvement plans to close identified gaps in management systems, and actively working with them to close improvement actions.

Involved in the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental leading performance indicators in the organisation in 2007. Proven track record of developing sound working relationships at all levels of the organisation, including with external stakeholders, including Board of Directors, Joint Venture Partners and regulators.

Postgraduate qualification in Industrial/Organisational Psychology and a Higher Diploma in Education have led to opportunities and experience of working with diverse groups of people in both the education and IT sectors.

A proven track record of delivering against deadlines, as well as working with clients to negotiate priorities. A good listener, who is analytical and good eye for detail.
