I have worked both here in New Zealand and in Australia as a health and safety practitioner since 1999 after completing a Bachelor of Science majoring in chemistry with OHS forming part of this degree and attained a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, PG DipBA (OHS) with distinction, and Management (OHS) with a focus on the effects of workplace injury under-reporting, noise exposure to workers, and effective injury reduction. In 2017 I achieved SafePlus Assessor accreditation and have undertaken a range of assessments for different organisations supporting their growth and development in health and safety culture.
I am highly experienced in the health and safety profession in a wide range of industries including retail, transportation, entertainment, power generation, telecommunications, medical technology, construction, petrochemical processing, contractor management, injury management and rehabilitation, government R&D facilities and deep-well drilling etc. and since 2020 have been providing independent services to different organisations. As a professional member of NZISM (New Zealand Institute of Safety Management), I maintain a strong understanding of legislative requirements and the importance of assisting companies to develop a positive health and safety culture through engagement with workers and management. My work has supported transformational change in several businesses in health and safety and environmental management working to assist them in achieving local and international recognition and accreditation.
