Background

I am an Occupational Health Nurse with a strong focus on promoting a safe and healthy workplace for all workers. My motivation for having a positive effect on workers’ health outcomes extends beyond health monitoring and management from potential hazards in the workplace. I place a strong importance on preventative care and promoting a clinical environment that identifies and provides nursing solutions for decreasing the burden of disease amongst workers. Passion and dedication to ongoing professional development in the Occupational Health Field has enabled my successful completion of required and recommended OHN core competencies. 

As an Occupational health nurse my experience includes monitoring employee’s health by conducting pre-employment and annual health assessments, workstation assessments, return-to-work/rehabilitation programs, offshore and exit health assessments for the workers at regular client sites and in our clinic. Skills in managing workers health and safety extends to being the onsite Occupational Health Medic for shutdowns at petrochemical plants, which also includes confined space entry health assessments, biological monitoring, heat stress and hydration management, and first aid provision.
