Helen Sadgrove (née Parkes)

Background
Practical, qualified and experienced.
I have undertaken a range of projects in health and safety including providing occupational health and safety advice to the Independent H&S Taskforce, investigating the grounding of the RENA with MNZ, and undertaking multiple reviews and advisory projects for both government and the private sector.
I have written guidance for Chief Executives including the “monitoring what matters” guidance material and the “risk toolkit” for the Business Leaders Health and Safety Forum. I specialise in supporting senior leaders and directors to lead and govern health and safety, and I am an independent member on boards and governance groups, providing health and safety advice and challenge to assist with effective governance and due diligence in health and safety. I also currently chair the all of government health and safety external advisory panel.
With a background in Environmental Health, I bring a broad perspective to health and safety - including alignment to food safety, environmental management, health promotion and public health, housing safety and fitness.
References and examples of the broad range of work I’m involved in can be provided on request.
When I’m not working in health and safety, I’m busy making the most of this amazing country, biking the trails or running the hills.
