Background

I have been in the health and safety industry for over 20 years and have seen many positive changes in the sector during my career. I am a passionate health and safety advocate with professional qualifications including ProfNZISM and recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Professional Practice Occupational Health and Safety. I am also qualified to conduct an occupational health and safety management systems audit for a selected business operation

Away from work I am heavily involved in my local community as a current board member and past Chair of Keep New Zealand Beautiful, a former Trustee of the Waitakere Licensing Trust, a current member of the Community Organisation Grant Scheme (West Auckland Distribution Committee), and a Rotarian and Secretary of the Massey Birdwood Settlers Association (resident and ratepayers group).

I am also a Community Representative for the Ministry of Social Welfare on the Benefit Review Committee in Auckland.

As a keen motorsport enthusiast and participant, I enjoy using motorsport as an example of the real benefits of tangible health and safety practices
