I have been working as an Occupational Health Nurse for 7 years with small and large businesses across Canterbury and I always endeavour to provide excellent service to clients. I am currently working at Habit Health which is New Zealand's largest integrated health, fitness and physiotherapy rehabilitation provider with clinics around the country that can provide various health services.
As an Occupational Health Nurse, I am able to meet a variety of people from diverse backgrounds in various workplaces and I have the opportunity to protect their health by providing support and education with a strong focus on health promotion and prevention of disease and injury. I believe that working together with employees and managers of businesses creates a positive health and safety culture and promotes a practical approach in implementing effective health and safety management systems in the workplace under the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
I am currently working towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences endorsed in Occupational Health and Safety at University of Otago. I have recently been nominated as Young Leader of NZOHNA Canterbury Branch. I regularly meet with other skilled Occupational Health Nurses and collectively, we continue to learn best practices within the Occupational Health and Safety industry. In 2020, I have written an article as part of my requirement to obtain my Post Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences endorsed in Occupational Health and Safety Qualification at University of Otago. The article was entitled “Use of PPE correctly and safely” and it was published in NZNO Kai Tiaki Nursing Magazine, Habit Health, and NZOHNA website to help improve Occupational Health Practice.
I am able to offer a full range of occupational health services including audiometry (hearing tests), spirometry (lung function tests), drug and alcohol testing, vaccinations, workstation assessments, biological health monitoring, pre-employment health assessments, annual health monitoring, cardiovascular risk assessments, functional capacity assessments, and health and wellbeing advice. We welcome any Occupational Health and Safety inquiries, and we are able to travel to your worksite or welcome you to visit Habit Health as we have offices based in Christchurch as well as other locations around the country.
