Background

Graham hails from Kāti Māhaki ki Makaawhio on the West Coast of the South Island and believes everyone who comes to work should return home without, injury, ill health or harm, and that the environment should be protected today for tomorrow and that responsibility rests with everyone in the business, from management to workers including supported contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. Safety and Environmental Sustainability is everyone’s responsibility.

Graham started his working life as a forest worker, enlisted in the NZ Army for 15 years and for the past 20 years has held senior consultant management roles within Multi-National Oil & Gas Companies (Onshore and Offshore) and Marine Contracting & Hydroelectric Construction Companies internationally in Indonesia, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Mozambique, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone and Sudan.

For the past 3 years working for Intesafety, Graham has been servicing clients in forestry, viticulture, horticulture, ports, construction & manufacturing, IT, power, tourism, infrastructure, transport, farming, marine, Māori enterprise and other industries. 

As an experienced Quality, Health, Safety, Security, Environmental (QHSSE) and Risk Management professional, Graham has a broad understanding of many workplace risks and the required controls across many industries. This enables him to benchmark a wide a variety of workplace risks, and importantly critical risks. 

Graham possesses strong quality assessment skills which enables him to assimilate a company’s safety culture and QHSSE risk management processes quickly allowing him to work collaboratively with management and workers to find cost-effective and common-sense solution’s which add value to the business. Graham is a proponent of the “whole of business safety approach” where management and workers work towards the goal of Zero Harm and Environmental Sustainability where systems are continually assessed and improved to support this goal.
