Background
I have over 12 years’ experience in HSE, working in Transport, Construction, Hospitality and Oil and Gas. I have been responsible for overseeing HSE for up to 800 staff, implementation of training programs, company policies and HSE Management systems. I believe in education and training as being the cornerstone of effective HSE management. I aim to make HSE understandable and applicable for all staff – from the operations floor to the head office. I also bring my legal experience to my work, having been admitted to the Western Australian Supreme Court Bar. This is particularly so when translating complex legalese into simple workable solutions for all personnel, relevant to their field of work.
My specialities include: delivery and support; management system development and implementation; consulting on security, environment, quarantine, food safety; workers’ compensation; H&S strategy; due diligence; officer’s duties. I am a licenced private investigator.
I have held several national roles and I have been involved in major projects in New Zealand and Australia, including: Oakajee Port and Rail (OPR) is a Western Australian greenfield infrastructure and supply chain project. I was part of the team which set up the legal framework for the project. $4.37bn; The Wheatstone Project (downstream) involves the building of the LNG and domestic gas plant treatment plant. I was involved in setting up the HSE strategies and processes for logistics. $29bn; Gorgon, LNG domestic gas treatment plant construction, commissioning and operation. It is globally one of the largest natural gas projects ever undertaken and the largest single-resource development in Australia's history. I was HSE Manager on the project, leading a team of twelve HSE advisors for approximately 800 staff. $74bn.
