When people complain to me about perceived onerous Health & Safety requirements I relate an interaction with two young boys aged 4 and 6. We go into the garden to run some shrub pruning’s through a garden chipper, Now guys we are going to have a tool box meeting to talk about the risks and where not to put your hands and what the rules are and the wearing of earmuffs and glasses. They now prompt me for the tool box meeting.
The message is Health & Safety needs to be in our culture and “second nature” in the process of activities we undertake.
