Changing culture takes time and the right approach is needed. I am known as having a practical approach to health and safety. I am not a box ticker. By helping people understand H&S, I can change their thinking from compliance to care. I respect people and I prefer to coach and guide rather than tell someone what to do. By getting alongside people, I help them develop workable solutions that will endure the test of real life work.
I have been a health and safety manager in commercial construction, saw milling, forestry, aquaculture, viticulture, horticulture and manufacturing.
I have experience as a investigator from 15 years as a former NZ Police Detective and Dept of Labour Inspector. Using ICAM and other techniques I can get to the root cause and recommend practical solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
