Background

Amarlee originally trained as a Comprehensive Nurse in 1989-Whangarei, Northland. She left New Zealand in the early 90's and worked in Australia and the United Kingdom before settling in Ontario, Canada for 21 years. She started her career as an Occupational Health Nurse in 1998 and during her time in Canada she obtained a diploma in Occupational Health Nursing, a Bachelor degree in Health Science (Nursing) and a Masters degree in Health Science (Nursing) with a focus on Rural Health and Health Care Management. She also became certified in the specialty of Occupational Health Nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association and has been a member since 2003.

Amarlee returned to New Zealand in November 2014 to take up the role of Senior Nurse Manager at StaffCare Ltd. Whangarei.

Occupational Health Nursing has been a career for Amarlee, she has a strong interest in health promotion and improving health outcomes for Maori workers. Occupational health nursing is a specialty practice that focuses on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from work-related and environmental hazards.She believes in evidence-based practice and providing holistic nursing based services.

Amarlee is a member of the New Zealand Occupational Health Nurses Association. Her nursing registration is maintained through the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
