Shona has worked at major NZ manufacturing site for over 20 years and is now working as a consultant Occupational Hygienist. She is experienced in all aspects of workplace assessments including exposure monitoring for all types of industrial particulates, gases fumes, noise, heat stress, lighting, biological monitoring.
Her expertise is the ability to carry out workplace assessments using science, observations, and investigation to provide clients with workable recommendations to improve the health and safety of their staff.
Shona began working in the Occupational Hygiene field after spending 10+ years working in an IANZ accredited laboratory. The work she carried out involved the gravemetric analysis as well as wet chemistry, XRD, XRF and OES methods.
Shona initially completed a Dip in Health & Safety, this included occupational hygiene and noise monitoring papers. Before completing her Degree in Health Science (human health and the environment) along with a post grad diploma in Occupational Hygiene at Deakin University Australia.
