I am a fully qualified health and safety professional with over 20 years worth of diverse experience in the field. I have worked in both an enforcement and advisory role for Central and Local Government, as well as providing guidance and advice to businesses from a vast range of industry sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, not for profit charities, wholesale and retail to name just a few.
I hold a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (Level 7) and am a Graduate member of both IOSH and NZISM, where I also sit on the Canterbury Branch Committee.
I understand that sometimes businesses need assistance with their ongoing health and safety improvements, be it occasionally or continuous and I like to think of myself as that independent set of eyes, that can provide businesses with a new prospective on their current culture and practices. I can highlight the gaps and provide clear guidance on how to improve.
In recent years I have carried out workplace inspections, gap analyses, machine guarding audits, developed SSSP's for organisations and attended Health and Safety Meetings.
Health and safety should be second nature to businesses and their workforce as ultimately we all have the same goal and that is to do an honest days work and then get home safely to our friends, family and loved ones.
