I have 20 years' experience in public and private healthcare settings in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, specialising in Cognitive Behavioural approaches in neurological conditions such as Brain Injury and Stroke. I've held clinical and consultant/teaching roles across the UK for 10 years before returning to NZ and applying this knowledge to the Vocational Rehabilitation sector. Understanding the relationship between a person's overall health and their environment is key to well-being at work, and I'm passionate about working with employers to achieve healthier workplaces. I work with a multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists and Psychologists to develop and deliver company specific Well-being at Work programmes, covering topics such as Stress at Work, Communication, and Injury/Illness Management.
My clinical experience has helped me to develop a keen eye for risks in a workplace, and I'm able to both develop safe and sustainable return to work programmes and provide task/environmental risk assessments to minimise injuries and/or poor health at work. I have successfully provided at-work support to some of the largest employers in the Bay of Plenty region for the last 8 years and would love to work with more businesses in the Bay of Plenty to reduce the incidence of workplace injury and improve workplace health.
Please contact me if you have any questions, and I'm happy to help.
