Background
I have been involved in the building industry for over 20 years including owning and running a Home Maintenance business for 10 years. This is where my interest in health & safety started having my own staff be concerned about their safety and well-being.
Over the last 9 years, I have held health and safety managers roles which have given me extensive experience in working at heights and managing the risks associated with this significant risk, along with developing new health and safety management systems, procedures, and policies. Working in national roles with multiple branches through to working with a large number of contractors and significant national clients. This work has also given me great experience with identifying critical risks and implementing controls associated with heavy plant and equipment within the construction industry.
I am an active member of the Waikato New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM), along with being the past branch manager and a professional member and I hold a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Level 6.
