I am a safety management professional and a Director of Aviation Safety Management Systems, one of New Zealand’s leading aviation regulatory consultancy firms.
My current work involves holding Senior Management positions for Safety Management Systems, including health and safety practices, within the aviation industry. Under my current contracts I advise Chief Executives on health and safety practices, chair multi-PCBU meetings at both governance and operations levels, lead hazard identification meetings with workshop-floor employees, train employees at all levels of the organisation, consult with external stakeholders, and develop systems and processes.
I have a strong background in education and training. I can deliver health and safety training effectively and communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
I have over 20 years’ experience in a variety of roles in the aviation industry, which has provided a range of experience that is relevant to understanding the aviation sector. This experience includes implementation of safety management systems and ensuring safe regulatory compliance is met. I am also involved in unmanned aircraft operator certification, including airspace requirements and operator education, where technology is changing quickly.
I also have experience in auditing health and safety in both the aviation sector and other sectors.
