Background
Originally from Fiji Island, I graduated with Diploma in Information Technology 2004. After 4 years of work experience in IT sector I decided to come to New Zealand. Prior to starting by job in health and safety, I worked as a storeman/forklift driver for 2 years. This experience has given me an in-depth and practical understanding of workplace risks and how it can be managed with least or no interruptions to the business process.
My qualification and skills in IT gives me the advantage to offer business sectors multiple cost efficient and effective options to have custom built health and safety systems to suit the business needs. This has proven to be very successful.
With over 11 years of experience, primarily within Manufacturing, Transport and Warehousing, Agriculture, Administrative and Support Services sectors I am ready to dig deeper. I have excellent communication skills to understand and facilitate the voice of a worker and the concerns of the management.
Most organisations do not have enough people with the right training to cover all the issues necessary for good management of workplace health and safety. I can offer expertise in specific areas so that problems can be solved, or I can provide on-going support where a full-time health and safety manager or advisor is not needed.
