Background

A Director and shareholder of the HSE Hub with over 20 years of experience in the Health, Safety, Environmental and Education sector. Throughout the last 10 years I have been heavily involved in the rebuild of Canterbury, establishing and implementing numerous initiatives to unite industry and insurers in a shared vision of Health and Safety. 

I initiated and helped establish Site Wise (formally known as APPCON) a web-based contractor management system now utilised throughout the country. I have sat on several H&S and Leadership committees, often holding the role of Chair. 

I frequently consult and present to senior leaders, Boards and Directors as part of my role. I have contracted to ACC as an auditor on the WSMP program and frequently audit sites for both environmental and safety compliance in construction.

Experienced HSE consultant and auditor across a wide range of industry sectors.

Established and Chaired the Canterbury Safety Rebuild Forum (CSRF) from December 2011 and handed over to the construction sector in November 2013 following establishment of the terms of reference.

Developed and facilitated growth in the Canterbury Rebuild under the Site Safe brand to accommodate services to meet the needs of the construction industry.

Developed and grew existing relationships with regulators and key stakeholders.

Involved in the Industrial/Construction, recreation & outdoor pursuits Industries as a program developer and trainer, in New Zealand and internationally since 1993.

Specialist in HSE at safety and risk management assessment and able to proactively develop solutions (NZIM Auditor Qualified). Working with Small Medium and Large businesses.

Excellent organisational skills with experience in strategic planning, business development, budget management and reporting. 

Experience with recruitment, management, and retention of staff to safely deliver a wide range of programs and activities. 

Confident and versatile communicator, with flexibility to present and teach across a wide variety of groups and organisational levels.

I have practical experience teaching rope skills, instructing abseiling, rock-climbing and has developed high-ropes courses, Industrial height safety programs and safety induction programs
