Christopher Alderson
Background
Chris is an experienced senior health and safety executive with over 30 years in business, both in New Zealand and offshore. He is currently the CEO of Construction Health and Safety New Zealand Trust (CHASNZ). In his role he has worked across the construction industry to provide guidance to both large and small organisations as well as specialist work such as the recent Ports of Auckland Independent Review.
Previously Chris headed up PwC's national Health and Safety consulting business providing hands on assistance to many of New Zealand's most complex businesses. Prior to that he spent 11 years at Fonterra where he was responsible for the global health and safety framework which included strategy, standards, performance and audit.
Chris is also a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Directors. He has experience working in diverse roles such as shared services, aviation, logistics and technology. He was the founding chair of Mates in Construction New Zealand, the suicide prevention charity and is a current board member of that organisation.
